Juvéderm is an injectable gel that replaces the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid (HA) produced by the skin.  Over time, aging skin loses HA resulting in wrinkles and folds.  Juvéderm smoothes away these wrinkles by restoring volume to those areas Juvederm Resultsalmost immediately.  Juvéderm is manufactured using Hylacross technology which gives Juvéderm a smooth consistency versus other granular HA fillers on the market.  Juvéderm is the only HA filler that is FDA approved.  Juvéderm can be injected into the mid-to-deep dermis to smooth wrinkles and folds such as the nasolabial folds (parentheses), marionette lines (extending down from corners of mouth), static frown lines, acne scars, oral commisures (corners of mouth), and can also be used to smooth out lip wrinkles (smoker’s lip) and plump lips.

Juvederm LogoThe most commonly occurring side effects are redness, swelling, pain/tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, and bruising.  It is not recommended to manipulate the area as doing so can risk displacing the gel.  The use of medications that can prolong bleeding (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) may increase the chances of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.  Immune suppressed individuals should use caution when receiving Juvéderm Injectable gel.   If there is any question or doubt about your health history or medications you are taking and how this can affect Juvéderm treatments, it is advised to consult with a Juvéderm technician.
